Hi, I’m Courtney Giles, a first-year student at Agnes Scott College. I’m currently planning to major in Public Health, and I’m also considering adding Political Science as a double major or minor. I’ve always been fascinated by infectious diseases, with a special interest in learning about infectious disease or maternal healthcare. So much that I dedicated the entirety of last summer studying Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Oxford. In the future I hope to work for the World Health Organization implementing health policy for our nation.

I was born and raised in New York City but went to high school in Connecticut; where I was a a part of the Varsity Swim and Dive team and the Co-founder and Vice- President of the Black Student Union. Outside of my academic passions, I love writing and reading poetry. When it comes to books, I’m really into romance, thrillers, and realistic fiction. I also love shopping, and some of my favorite things include listening to Adele and watching Criminal Minds and Law & Order: SVU.

A fun fact about me is that I’m ambidextrous—I write with my right hand and draw with my left, and I’m an only child. I intend to use this portfolio to express my many interest; personal and professional, and house the amazing work I'll produce over the years!
